Project 61
1961 FLH Chopper
This bike was resurrected from a shed in
the Arizona desert. The idea was to make it road-worthy again,
sell it and make a few bucks. The idea turned out to be very
successful in that I made just a very few bucks when all
was said and done. Most of the damage to the bike was cosmetic,
the bottom end actually was still very tight, however new
pistons and valves were required. A new oil pump was also
required. The whole bike was disassembled, the frame sandblasted
and repainted (with rattle cans). The front fork tubes were
shortened three inches, electronic ignition and new electronic
regulator generator were fitted. New tires, new wheel rims
and stainless spokes were added. The rear fender, as well
as all the other small parts were powder coated. The bike
started easy and ran great. |
